Irèn Nooren

To Irèn Nooren, Curaçao is the island with a heartwarming array of landscapes, people, religions and bustle. She was hooked by this one-of-a-kind melting pot; it requires a designer to be versatile. She thrives while preparing and handling  a photo shoot just as much as while writing copy, designing collateral, creating illustrations, publishing books or designing and branding screen printed t-shirts. Whenever she takes some time off, you will likely find her hiking through the ‘mondi’ of Curaçao, and needless to say, with a camera in her hands.

Irèn Nooren visited Curaçao for the first time in 1990, together with her Curaçao raised husband. Studying for her bachelor in fine arts at that time, she immediately fell in love with the breathtaking architecture. Although plans were made much earlier, the family – with three kids by then – moved to Curaçao by 2002.

Just a few months after arriving, Irèn started Memento Vivi _ graphic design agency. Under the name of Memento Vivi, she designs both for print and the web, and she creates unique Curaçao Souvenirs. While designing for businesses, both serving the consumer and tourist market, being an independent publisher, the gift book Herinneringen aan Curaçao [Memories of Curaçao] and the online magazine Cpost, and managing an online web shop and an online community, Irèn gained ample knowledge of the Curaçao consumer and tourist market
