1 Who are you?
Hey what’s up? My name is Stefany Terreehorst and I am 18 years old. About myself, well I’ve heard from my friends that I can be shy but also very hyper and jolly, that I’m friendly and always have something to talk and laugh about. I’m always there for my friends when they need me. If I notice that something isn’t right with someone, I try talking to them and see if I can help in any way. Other things about myself are for example: I love to be creative and make things by hand. And I also like writing a lot.
2 Where are you from?
I was born in 1993 in the Netherlands. My father was also born in the Netherlands. My mother is from Curaçao and so is the rest of her side of the family. What makes my family unique is that you would never guess we are family. My grandmother is actually dark colored and my mother doesn’t look like her at all. She is mixed and therefore a different color. And than you have me, light coloured. Three generations and none of us look alike.
3 You won the shirt&words modeling competition. Congratulations! Can you tell us why you entered the competition and what modeling means to you?
On my Facebook I received a msg inviting me to join the competition. I decided to join the competition because it seemed like a fun competition and I’ve always wanted to model for shirts&words. I have never done something like this before but with the support of my friends I managed to make it to the second round. I was also a judge favourite. After they chose me to be one of the models and the photo shoot session was complete, the voting for the favourite model began. We all competed for weeks on end. In the end, thanks to yet again all of my friends that stood by me and had helped me through the whole journey, I had finally won the competition!!
Modelling for me is something new but exciting. Until now I’ve had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it. You meet a lot of new and nice people and learn to become more confident about yourself. I’ve learned to work hard for my goals and to keep fighting till the very end, no matter how far away that goal may seem.
4 Do you have any future plans in modeling?
Currently I am modeling for C Models. C Models is a group of young girls and boys that model for Curaçao. I am planning to continue modeling for them until I finish my school. In the future I would like to continue with modeling but I’m not sure about where and when I want to do that yet.
5 You are not just a beautiful girl but also a smart girl. What are your plans regarding school and study?
I am currently in 6 VWO at the Radulphus College. I have worked long and hard to get there and just like anyone else, would like to finish this with the best grades I can.
After that, I’m planning to go study psychology at the university of Tilburg in the Netherlands. To become a good and preferably loved child psychologist.
6 What’s your favorite song and why?
There are a lot of songs that I like but if I had to pick one I would say ‘everything’ from Michael Buble. There are two reasons why I love this song. The first reason is that it’s a really beautiful song about the great happiness of real love, but at the same time it’s making a statement about the world. In the song Michael Buble is trying to say that no matter what’s happening, that person in your life that you love is what really makes everything else that might be happening worthwhile. And the second reason is that the song makes me think of my boyfriend whom I love a lot!!
7 What is the most important thing to you in this world and why?
The most important thing for me in the world is honesty. I’m a honest person and to me it’s important that everyone around me is honest, too. I believe that if you are honest from the beginning you won’t have to deal with problems that occur because of lies.
8 What will your life look like ten years from now?
Ten years from now I’ll be 28 years old. I hope that by that time I’m a psychologist working with and helping children and teenagers with any kind of problems. I can also see myself doing a lot of charity work. And hopefully I will be happily married and have at least one child, or be pregnant. Of course I would like to be living in a beautiful, warm and welcoming home with my husband and prepare for the delights and challenges of life and being a parent. I am not asking for a perfect fairy tale life. But one where my family and I will be happy and always work things out. One that I can dream of, and make a reality.
9 Do you have anything else to share with us?
I would like to give a message to everyone that has a dream or belief, but is afraid to actually pursue them. They should totally go for them no matter how far away or childish it may seem at first. Never be afraid of what can or may happen. The benefits of achieving those dreams will outweigh anything else and will always be worth it in the end. Work hard for everything you believe in and you will succeed without a doubt. And if life wants to knock you down a thousand times… Then simply show life you’re already getting ready to get back up the thousand and one time!
Never give up. No matter what!!
